Tudum is Netflix's way of talking directly to fans. Then the pandemic hit, and the question became how to keep that conversation going with everyone stuck at home. The answer: a free almanac. 114 maximalist pages of interviews, stickers, posters, quizzes and puzzles. After all, the competition was a smartphone. So, give me everything.
The direction was nostalgia: glossy highlights, thick outlines, loud colors and sparkles everywhere, like a teen magazine from a decade that never quite existed. It made sense, since so many Netflix hits live on that retro energy. Almost 200 illustrations, letterings and stickers later, every page was hiding a reference for fans to catch.
The almanac reached the homes of 200,000 fans, alongside a three-day live event with over 1 million YouTube streams and #TudumAoVivo trending for three days straight. People still tag me with the poster on their wall. Best part, by far.
