colorform is an interface created for the pixel watch 4, developed over six months in collaboration with google. the project brought together design, lettering, experimentation, and research.
its key idea was transforming the manual gesture of lettering into a digital system for the watch: 29 hand-drawn numbers that generate more than 1,500 possible combinations, creating a visual experience that constantly shifts and feels new every minute.
the forms of the watch face are intense, fluid, and bold, inspired by the history of queer culture, its visibility, pride, and resistance to oppression. the project reclaims elements that were historically marginalized and translates them into design, expressing the freedom and expansive nature of lgbtqia+ identity.
